Perforation without explosives

Perforation without explosives

EOSS Partners offers the new technology of hydromechanical perforation (explosive-free) of the casing of different sizes with the formation.

Technology Description

Hydromechanical perforating technology is actively implemented in production and injection wells, prior to hydraulic fracturing of wells.
As a result of using our technology, natural hydrocarbon slack was obtained in many wells.
During reperforating, multiple increases in flow rates are observed until the original values are reached, and in some cases these values are exceeded.
During reperforation of injection wells, injectivity increases significantly due to the high quality of flushing of the downhole formation zone, in wells with long exploitation.
With application of our technology, prior to hydraulic fracturing, well injectivity is usually increased and formation fracturing pressure is decreased.
Multi-stage acid fracturing is being performed successfully: up to 6 intervals are processed in a single trip.

Field Test

Technical maintenance, as well as service maintenance during and after the warranty period is carried out by a specialized service team, accredited according to the rules of industrial safety in the oil and gas industry, established by the federal laws and other instruments of the legal order of the Russian Federation. Special sectors and warehouse with spare parts are located near the service works.

Advantages of Technology

  • Environmentally friendly technology: no pollution or carbon footprint due to the non-use of explosives.
  • Lower cost: it is more economical compared to the conventional system by punctured meter.
  • Minimizes operational risk: because no explosives are used, operational risk is much lower than in conventional punching operations
  • Larger flow area: taking the average diameter (0.4") of the holes created by high penetration explosive bullets, the total flow area obtained with a density of 12 tpp is 3.78 in2 per meter punctured while the total flow area created by the hydromechanical technology is 7.2 in2 per meter punctured.
  • Less formation damage: this technique eliminates formation damage due to crystallization of the tunnels and the accumulation of undesirable solids from the explosives at the end of the tunnel.
  • Improved permeability: by eliminating crystallization damage and creating tunnels with better geometry, the connectivity between the formation and the wellbore is much better, as well as allowing asphaltenes to be deposited in the lower part of the tunnel, minimizing the clogging of pore throats as much as possible.
  • Improved productivity: in the work performed, a substantial increase in the production of crude oil and gas was evidenced.
  • No lost time: It can operate 24 hours/day x 7 days/week, independent of weather conditions.
  • Easier to transport: The tool's design, which is only 6 feet long and weighs 200 pounds, allows it to be transported in light vehicles without the need for escorts.
  • Reduces the risk of accidents: the components are very light and maintenance is very practical, requiring only two people for handling, which minimizes to the maximum the risk of personal injury due to excess weight and/or suspended loads.
  • On-site maintenance: the maintenance set travels with the operating technician, making it possible to perform preventive and corrective maintenance at the well site Continuous operation at high punching densities: The special alloy of the blades allows between 350 and 400 casing punches in a single trip, thus eliminating travel times for barrel replacement as occurs in conventional punching.
  • Control of the depth of the punching tunnel: by controlling the surface pressure and the injection time it is possible to punch only the casing or create tunnels from 14" (35.56 cm) to 59" (149.86 cm) according to our criteria.
  • More economical depth correlation: only requires the use of CCL-GR with an e-line unit whose cost is much cheaper than a conventional profiling unit.
